Proton Therapy Site Manager

Key Responsibility:
The Site Manager is in charge of the Operations and the Maintenance activities of the system, while the facility is under clinical operations. The responsibility of the system falls then under the Customer Service department. Continuous upgrades of the system, software or hardware, are performed over the whole lifetime of the equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction and coordination of technical and administrative support activities including repair, preventative maintenance and engineering change upgrades in order to provide the highest level of service, maximize customer satisfaction and achieve financial objectives.
  • Utilizes proven business skills to manage a profit and loss center.
  • Functions as the team leader providing support and guidance to a team of technical field engineers.
  • Provides direction for the delivery of pre- and post-sales services and support to the Proton Therapy customer.
  • Participates and assumes the lead in the resolution of customer concerns and defining and developing a customer contact strategy. Ensures adequate records and systems are maintained.

Minimum Required Skills, Knowledge, Training and Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent with 8 years of related experience including 3 years management experience or a supervisory equivalent.
  • Ability, competence and confidence to lead people and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • International experience very desirable
  • Sound understanding and application of contract structuring, composition and contract negotiation.
  • Good understanding and experience in establishing quotations, costing for jobs, monitoring costs and following up on execution.
  • Previous experience in positions of large-scale industrial or clinical projects.
  • Obtains and completes training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
  • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software such as UNIX is desired.
Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements these requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to:

  • Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN)
  • Criminal background checks
  • Drug screens
  • Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus)
  • Annual TB testing
  • Healthcare trainings (HIPAA Compliance)
  • The position is a professional position and the conduct of such a position should be the basic expectation.
  • Extensive hours are often required, particularly during first six months.
  • Shift work including nights and weekends is sometimes required.
  • Occupational exposure to radiation.
  • Work with high voltage equipment and magnetic fields
  • Work with hazardous materials
  • For the first, several months (up to 6 months) travel will be required which could include both domestic and international locations.
  • Perform the essential functions of the job
    • Working at heights which includes 4 feet or higher
    • Climbing ladders
    • Standing, sitting or stooping for long periods of time
  • The position is a professional position and the conduct of such a position should be the basic expectation.
  • Extensive hours are often required, particularly during first six months.
  • Shift work including nights and weekends is sometimes required.
  • Occupational exposure to radiation.
